Watch Out Google Assistant is chopping down many accessibility features this month

Good mid-week friends and family, we needed to update our readers with some eyebrow raising mobile accessibility news. many of us use the Google Assistant to aid in many tasks, and it’s good, especially on the Android Operating System’s. Unfortunately, starting in a few weeks on January 26, 2024, the Google Assistant will be taking a demotion and will no longer offer many of the accessibility options “voice controls,” vision impaired and blind users depend on.

Amongst these accessibility options, the following will be on the chopping block

  • Using your voice to send a message & email
  • Using your voice to check personal travel itineraries
  • Voice control options for Fitbit Sense & Versa
  • Several other accessibility and non-accessibility cuts
