In a world where every individual is grappling with their own personal demons, illnesses, and setbacks, the real question that arises is whether they are willing to open their minds to learn from these obstacles. Are they observant enough to see both sides of the coin? Can they expand their consciousness and uncover the root of true wisdom? This is a journey that Princeton, New Jersey native, Bee Phox, knows all too well.
A U.S. Army and Desert Storm veteran, Bee Phox has attributed his survival to one fundamental trait: an open mind. His nine years of honorable service were not without their share of pain and hardship, from debilitating bouts of mental illness to the haunting terror of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Bee Phox found himself in and out of mental hospitals, struggling to find solace.
However, in the midst of his darkest days, Bee Phox discovered the healing powers of creating music. It was through this medium that he transformed his struggles into a beacon of strength. Music became his therapy, his lifeline, and his path to recovery.
But Bee Phox’s journey didn’t end there. He shared his newfound talent and mental therapy with his cousin, Hugh Carter, also a PTSD-diagnosed Army veteran. Together, they formed 2Souljiers, an organization with a powerful mission: to empower their community by helping homeless veterans, those battling mental illness, and providing a platform for Bee Phox’s uplifting music.
Bee Phox’s debut single, “Open Your Mind,” serves as a symbol of a brighter tomorrow. He teamed up with Philadelphia’s Billboard-charting rapper and producer, Stoneface of Eloheem Team, to fight for fellow PTSD sufferers. The mesmerizing soundscape produced by Stoneface perfectly complements the lyrical prowess of both emcees, commanding listeners to open their minds with fearlessness and elevation.
Bee Phox, when asked about “Open Your Mind,” shared, “I have always been a man of thought. I habitually choose to open my mind before opening my mouth. This is where I found the source of absolute wisdom, unlocking powerful thoughts and ideas that have enabled me to take the offensive against my own PTSD.”
“Open Your Mind” is now available on all major platforms via 2Souljiers and marks the beginning of a transformative journey. It’s also the first single off Bee Phox’s upcoming debut album, “From Soldier To Soul Lifter,” set to release in early 2024.
